CD Cover Textual Analysis: Ben Howard - Every Kingdom

This is Ben Howard's album Every Kingdom. It is a very simple album cover consisting of the one image and the writing. The artists name is in big bold capital letters and is very noticeable, it is white which keeps the same colour scheme to the background image, it also takes up about a quarter of the cover. It is very big compared to the albums title Every Kingdom. The CD covers image is a picture of a man diving underwater, it could be symbolic of the title as it is like he is diving underwater to look for another world, another kingdom which relates to the title Every Kingdom. It is a very calming image which could relate to his music 

The lighting is very soft and so a silhouette of the man is created. Just above the person there is a big bit of light, which is probably  the sun above him. It is shot at an long establishing shot, this is good as it shows his surroundings which is in this case the ocean, river, lake etc.. he is in a position that looks like he has not long dove in, his arms are not extended showing that he has not swam yet. There are not props or anything really on this album cover, which keeps it simple.
