Uses and Gratification: Information

This youtube movie review for 'Elysium' is very informative and shows the good points to the film as well as the bad points, for example he highlights Matt Damon for being an amazing actor in the film and really living up to the expectations of the film and the hype. However the actress Jodie Foster does not. This is a very good review because it helps the audience decide if the film is worth seeing or not. The youtuber himself, Chris Stuckmann, has over 60,000 subscribers so this shows that he is a respected movie reviewer, this could have been cause by the 2 step flow theory which is passive, he could have got so popular by people telling their friends about him. As well as this, Stuckmann makes the film sound very good, and because of this it could make his audience want to go see the 'Elysium'. He uses pictures of the film so the audience can visualise the points he is talking about. He provides a lot of information about the film, which is a main point of uses and gratification.

Uses and Gratification: Personal Identity

A lot of people can relate as the audience to this TV show Awkward, as it has a variety of characters in of different gender, age and race. The main character, Jenna, goes through normal everyday things an average teen would, meaning that normal average teens can relate to this TV show. Males also may identify with the show as it has a male, Matty, as one of the main characters. I think I relate to Jenna in some ways more than others, for example, as the TV show name 'Awkward' would suggest I think I live up to that, however I do not find myself chased by two (or three, depending what season you're on)   boys that fall in love with and it's all fun and things like that...
